Spring Scrimmage
We're excited to kick off the riding season with a scrimmage at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center! This is an opportunity for youth riders to try racing in a fun, supportive, and low-stakes environment. This is also your chance to test your fitness and skills heading into summer! Please note: this race is hand-timed. There are no awards or podium! Coaches-stick around for a coaches clinic from 12-2.

3-Part Mechanic Clinic
This is a THREE-PART mechanic clinic hosted at Onion River Outdoors in Montpelier. By signing up for this event you are committing to attend ALL THREE sessions: Sunday June 1, Sunday June 29, and Sunday September 28. All sessions will be from 4-6pm.
In this three-part series riders will learn how to care for their bike as the season progresses. At the first session they'll inspect their bikes to be sure everything is functioning well for the season ahead. As the season progresses clinic attendees will learn the basic skills to provide at-home repairs, tune-ups and essential cleaning routines that ensure a smooth ride all season long.

Group Ride at the Trapp Family Outdoor Center
Join Vermont Youth Cycling for an afternoon of casual group rides on the Trapps trails. We'll divide into distance/ability groups at the start of the event. All riders beginner through advanced abilities are welcome.

Join Vermont Youth Cycling and the Central Vermont Trailblazers for a morning of casual group rides on the North Branch Trails in Montpelier. We'll divide into distance/ability groups at the start of the event. All riders beginner through advanced abilities are welcome.

Girls Skills Clinic with Kelly Catale
Join Vermont Youth Cycling and professional cyclist Kelly Catale for an afternoon/evening of mountain bike skill and community building at Ascutney Outdoors, right before our first race! (Camping available at AO!)
Session may include the following topics: mental strength and developing a mindset for racing, on-the-bike skills rotations, group rides, Q&A Session with Kelly.

Skills Clinic with Kelly Catale - Girls and Non-Binary Athletes
Join Vermont Youth Cycling and professional cyclist Kelly Catale for a day of mountain bike skill and community building. We welcome any youth rider who is comfortable learning in a predominantly female group. Gender non-conforming riders are welcome to attend.
Location TBD. Open to 25 participants. Free to VTYC members; $50 fee for non-members.

Group Ride Day at the Rochester Trails
We are thrilled to be co-hosting a FREE group ride day at the Rochester trails on Saturday, June 1. We will be based out of the Green Mountain Bike shop and riding primarily at the Ranger station and other village trails.
Rides will begin after gathering mid-morning, with grilling and a potluck lunch to follow. More details to come.

Spring Scrimmage + Group Rides
Youth riders are invited to test their spring fitness and technical skills on a 1, 2 or 3 lap ~5k course. All races begin at 10:00am (or shortly thereafter), are hand-timed, and prizes will be given to all participants. Warm-up beginning at 9:00am. No podiums.
Stick around and explore the Catamount trails on a 1-hr group ride led by VTYC volunteers following the scrimmage.

Wilderness First Responder and CPR Course
Prepare for the season ahead by earning your SOLO Wilderness First Aid certification with VT Youth Cycling!
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is ideal for mountain bike coaches and outdoor enthusiasts who want a basic level of backcountry first aid training for shorter adventures with family, friends, and outdoor groups. This includes cyclists, runners, climbers, trail crew members, paddlers, skiers and others who want to feel more independent, empowered and capable outside.
